Day-by-Day Itinerary

Friday, Dec 2: After enjoying the buffet breakfast at your hotel your American Express English-speaking guide will accompany you to Alexandria by A/C car or minivan. With the feel of a European city, Alexandria is quite different than the rest of Egypt. Visits to the Catacombs of Kom el Shugafa, "Pompey's Pillar," the Roman Amphitheater and the Greco-Roman Museum.

You and your tour guide return to Cairo by evening.
Hotel: Novotel Cairo Airport Hotel Meal: Breakfast.

Saturday, Dec 3: Enjoy a visit to Old Cairo, or "Coptic Cairo." You will see the Church of St. Mary, called El Moallaqah (the "Hanging Church"), which was built in the 4th C. AD on two towers of the Roman fortress of Babylon, and also the Church of St. Stergius. You can also visit the Church of St. Barbara and the Coptic Museum if you would like.

There are also a number of beautiful mosques which open to the public. You and your tour guide can decide which of these you would like to visit.

There is also the Khan El Khalili bazaar, if you would like to do some more shopping.

Sunday, Dec 4: Departure flights home or continue your stay in Egypt. Camping in the Sinai desert, a side-trip to Petra or a few days at the Red Sea?
Meal: Breakfast.

· Sightseeing with tour guide & private A/C vehicle in Alexandria & Cairo as per itinerary
· Transfers from the cruise boat to the airports in Aswan & to/from the airport in Cairo.

Not included:
· Items of a personal nature - laundry, telephone calls, etc.
· Meals, except where listed above
· Bottled water and other beverages
