"Desert Retreat"

If what you would like is to have time in the vast spaciousness of the desert for quiet reflection, solitary walks or meditation Rabia would be glad to provide you with a Desert Retreat.  The Bedouins will build you your own private bedouin tent (made of camel hair with adjustable flaps to suit the weather) in a secluded spot near things that you might want to explore during the day.  The wide-open starry sky is all yours at night, either to be solitary or with a few friends.

The bedouin tent serves as your home base.  You can make trips by foot, camel or jeep during the day, if you choose.  Rabia can take you to someone that does an energy clearing using metals, an herbalist or a medical clairvoyant.  All three are elderly Bedouin women with special gifts of healing.  You might also like to meet Rabia's father, the Sheikh of the Alagat tribe (2,500 members).  His mother is the primary midwife for the tribe.

You can have the privilege of spending time with these desert people, the last generation of this nomadic culture to live before they became modernized about 10 years ago.  Or you might choose to use this time to spend time alone and away from other people.  The quiet of the desert is full of spiritual riches.  It is no surprise that Jesus went into the desert for 40 days before beginning his ministry.

Length of your retreat and location of your Bedouin tent is personalized to your preferences.

Ras Abu Gallum  "Quiet by the Sea"

Ras Abu Gallum is a protected area on the shore of the Gulf of Aqaba.  Facing Saudi Arabia on the eastern side of South Sinai, it is south of Nuweiba and north of Dahab..  You will see many birds and other wildlife here.  The water is very shallow with sand bars that are exposed at low tide.  The fisherman catch fish by spear fishing, so there is plenty of fresh fish to eat -- and a large variety at that.

There are grass huts set up on two of the waterfronts here.  One has a sandy beach and is more popular with visitors.  The other has a pebbly beach and offers more privacy.  The grass huts provide shade in the heat of the day.  You can sleep in them, too, or sleep out under the stars.  The sound of the sea washing ashore in small, gentle waves will lull you to sleep at night.

A relaxing stay at the sea is an excellent idea after a camel trek or jeep safari.  The length of your seaside visit is your choice.
